No One Fights Alone Scholarship

Inspired by Coach Marc Bartholomew

The No One Fights Alone Scholarship is awarded to a senior football player who plans to continue his education beyond high school and whose experience in the Chardon Football program has shaped his character, leadership, and appreciation for community.

Inspired by the life and legacy of Coach Marc Bartholomew (1950-2025), this scholarship reflects the values he lived every day as a teacher, coach, and mentor in the Chardon community. Coach Bart believed that football was more than a game—it was a brotherhood. He taught young men that challenges are never faced alone, that teammates support one another through adversity, and that true strength comes from unity, commitment, and heart.

Chardon Football is about more than wins and losses. It is about learning how to work with others, hold yourself accountable, and lead in ways that make those around you better. This scholarship seeks a student-athlete who understands that lesson—someone who has experienced firsthand how football builds bonds, forges leaders, and creates lifelong connections.

Applicants should demonstrate how football taught them brotherhood, resilience, and leadership, both on and off the field. They should also reflect on what makes Chardon a special community—its pride, tradition, and the responsibility that comes with representing something greater than yourself every time you wear the “C.”

The No One Fights Alone Scholarship honors a senior football player who embodies the spirit Coach Bartholomew stood for: commitment to learning, leadership through action, and a deep respect for teammates, school, and community—while preparing to carry those lessons into the next chapter of life.
